Nelson Toburen, a linebacker who earned two NFL championship rings with the Green Bay Packers under coach Vince Lombardi, has died at 87 after a cancer illness.
Toburen was part of the Lombardi era, one of the most celebrated periods in Packers history. The team dominated professional football during those years, and Toburen contributed to that period of dominance.
After his playing career ended, Toburen went on to serve as a judge in Kansas, a role that defined much of his later life.
