Anthony Mackie will transfer his West End production of Macbeth to Broadway, marking a return to theatre after a long absence. He will play the title role, with the run set to run until July 2027.
The production started on the West End stage before the Broadway transfer was confirmed by entertainment outlets. The move marks a significant moment for a performer largely absent from the stage in recent years.
After his Broadway engagement ends, Mackie has confirmed he will film Avengers: Secret Wars, placing the superhero film in after his stage work wraps.
